Refurbishment

Nottingham Industrial Museum’s Winter Refresh

We are delighted to announce that Nottingham Industrial Museum is undergoing a range of improvements to enhance your experience.

However, to ensure the safety and security of our collections, visitors and volunteers while refurbishment and maintenance works take place, we are closed and will reopen early in 2018 – keep an eye out for our re-opening event.

We are sad to be closing our doors even for a short time, we are also very excited about our future, and the Winter Refresh is central to our continued success.

When we re-open, you will be able to
• explore the Museum
• enjoy our five fascinating galleries, which tell the incredible story of Nottingham’s industrial heritage
• take part in our regular children’s activities
• come to our fabulous events

If you would like to volunteer with Nottingham Industrial Museum during the refresh or when we reopen, please visit our volunteering page.

Unfortunately, we will hold no events until we re-open, but many of the events we planned for this year will take place in the New Year. Please visit our events page which will be populated towards the end of this year with the existing events, a learning and education schedule for the local community, talks, concerts, private tours and special themed days and weekends – as well as our ever-popular end of month Steam Day.

We would also like to thank you for helping us make 2017 our most successful year since reopening as a volunteer-led charity in March 2012.

You have helped us increase our revenue by over 50% compared with 2016, which means we can afford to take on extra improvements. For example, we will be launching an exciting rebrand of the Museum, including a new vibrant and eye-catching logo with a complementary colour scheme, investing in a new volunteer uniform, refurbishing ‘behind the scenes’ areas such as our mess hall and exhibition space, sprucing up and reinvigorating our front of house displays and implementing cost savings throughout our operation.

Though we will happily accept further donations – please see our donations page for more details.

Please come back to our website or visit our social media pages (FaceBook, Twitter and Instagram) to keep in touch with us. We will let you know more about the refresh over the coming weeks.
